T20 World Cup 2022: Kane Richardson heaps praise on Surya Kumar Yadav

India's most consistent T20I batter in 2022 has been Surya Kumar Yadav. In 23 T20I this year, Yadav has amassed 801 runs with a century and six half-centuries, at an impressive strike rate of 184.56.

So far, in all of India's three practice matches Down Under, Yadav has been the most effective. In the ongoing warm-up against Australia, the 31-year-old scored a 33-ball 50, as India managed 188 for 7.

Kane Richardson starred for the Australian team with the ball, picking up four middle-order wickets, which included Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Richardson at the innings break, praised Yadav for his knock, and called him one of the best going around.

"I think it was the first time he (Suryakumar Yadav) missed the middle of the bat against us. He's one of the best batters in the world at the moment, so it was good taking him on."

Richardson also talked about his place in the XI, saying that he is always ready to play for Australia.

The Mumbai Indians' batter was the second-highest run-scorer in the recently concluded three-match T20I series between both sides in India last month.

At point of publishing this, Australia are cruising in their chase of 187, with 148 on the board after the end of 16 overs.
