The 33 year old Bhuvneshwar Kumar is primarily a bowler by profession who comes in handy with his batting skills low down the order. He is currently a part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad which has been severely rocked by a massive string of defeats.

Their overall team record is in shambles and are ranked second in the points table starting from bottom. However, their premium bowler Kumar has been having a good time with the ball who has picked up 8 wickets this season whilst averaging just around 30.88.

But when it comes to his batting abilities, the current Indian pacer has faltered badly. In his last game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Kumar claimed an unwanted record with the bat. So far in the history of IPL, Bhuvi walked out to bat on 34 occasions whilst chasing and not even once has his side emerged victorious. It is a very hard fact to digest if you are an Orange Army fan.

In Sunrisers Hyderabad's most recent fixture on Thursday,  the game was well set up for SRH to win as they only needed 9 of the last 6 balls. Once Bhuvi walked out to bat, the intentions were pretty much clear i.e. to take the team to a win.

Although he remained unbeaten scoring a run-a-ball five, his team still ended up on the losing side as he was unable to use his long handle to get the winning runs. There have been numerous other instances from the earlier IPL editions where he spectacularly failed with the bat during critical times, much to the disappointment of his fans and his team management.

With a vulnerable batting line up, it is paramount for the lower order to fire specially in the ongoing season where the top three featuring the heavy weight Harry Brook haven't got their rhythm right. SRH will now head to Jaipur for their next encounter on May 7 where they will be up against a robust RR side.
