As Sarfaraz Khan's sizzling batsmanship fetched him a century in the Irani Cup 2022, records continue to come his way.

Breaking past Don Bradman's aggregate of first-class runs after 43 innings, Khan left behind the legendary Aussie batter, riding on his 178-ball 138. While Bradman had scored 2927 runs in 22 FC matches, Khan took seven more games to score a run more than the former's tally.

The Mumbai batter also has the second-best strike-rate while also maintaining the second-highest career average (minimum 2000 runs) in first-class cricket.

India call-up on the cards?

After Rest of India languished at 18/3, Sarfaraz forged a 220-run partnership with Hanuma Vihari as the side recorded 374 runs in their first innings.

Also, as the national selectors Chetan Sharma and Sunil Joshi watched the 24-year-old lit the Saurashtra Cricket Association stadium with his extravagant strokeplay, an India call-up seems to be on the cards.

Earlier in the match, the troika of Mukesh Kumar, Kuldeep Sen and Umran Malik reduced the former Ranji Trophy winners to bits as the latter tattered at 98/10 in their first innings.
