On Sunday, veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja ripped through the Australian batting lineup, as his spectacular seven-fer played a crucial hand in bundling the visitors out for a paltry 113 in their second innings.

In this process, the slow left-armer became the first-ever Indian bowler to record a ten-fer in a Test match against Australia in Delhi.

He also registered the best bowling figures in an inning by an Indian against Australia at the venue, bettering Bishen Singh Bedi's five for 37.

Best bowling figures for India versus Australia in Delhi

  • Ravindra Jadeja: 7/42
  • Bishen Singh Bedi: 5/37
  • EAS Prasanna: 5/42
  • R Ashwin: 5/57
  • Anil Kumble: 5/67

Australia were in a commanding position, having a crucial lead of 62 runs with two set batters in the middle at stumps on day 2.

However, Jadeja ran through their batting lineup on Sunday morning, getting ample support from his partner-in-crime, Ravichandran Ashwin, at the other end.

The duo bamboozled the visiting batters with their incredible guile and variations, making them bite the dust one after the other.

Jadeja emerged as the more lethal of the two, as he not only picked the prized scalps of Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey and Peter Handscomb, but also cleaned up the tail with the utmost precision.

Riding on his stupendous bowling efforts, India bundled out their counterparts for just 113 in the second innings. Chasing 115, the hosts are six for one at the time of writing.
