As the Netherlands went head-to-head with India, it marked a moment of history for Dutch cricket as their national team faced the Men in Blue for the first time in the T20 format.

Highlighting the importance of their game versus India, Netherlands' Paul van Meekeren asserted how 'massive' it was for their country in the context of the sport.

'Just to be there is very special'- Paul van Meekeren

Meekeren, who brought an end to KL Rahul's stay in the middle, shared his feeling about taking the field along with the Indian players.

"You watched these players on TV about 100 times, and just to be there is very special. I think in the moment. I probably didn't realise it as much, and it will probably sink in the next 24 hours."

Further, the 29-year-old shared his experience of competing with Rohit Sharma and Co. as he cited it as a story worth telling to his grandchildren.

"Again, it's massive. The amount of media we got back home because we're playing India was immense. Getting photos and messages from people in Holland, from family, about just the articles and I said about something this is a day I'll tell to my grandkids hopefully. That's what it is, playing against India."

After losing by 56 runs against India, the Netherlands will collide with Pakistan on October 30 in Perth.
