Indian fans waited for a Rohit Sharma special for a long time now, and the Indian skipper finally delivered in the ongoing first Test against Australia in Nagpur.

On a surface that offered assistance to the spinners, Rohit was astute in his defence and struck a majestic hundred to steer India in a driving seat.

He kept losing partners at the other end, but Rohit was unfazed with the situation and notched up what many believe is his finest knock in Test cricket. At one stage, India were looking to capitalise on the situation, when Rohit and Jadeja were building up a brisk partnership, but Pat Cummins had some other ideas.

In the 81st over, Cummins bowled a fuller length ball, which threatened to nip back in. Rohit with a half-stride forward went for the in-slanter, but the ball jagged away sharply to castle the off stump. Rohit was in shell shock as he was batting with supreme confidence.

Prior to that delivery, Cummins was wicketless in the game and looked rather ineffective. But as they say, you can't keep a champion bowler down and out for long.

At the time of writing, India are 277 for the loss of 7 wickets.
