In a glowing tribute to Jos Buttler's cricketing brilliance, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has showered accolades on the England wicketkeeper-batsman for his remarkable run in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The legendary spinner believes that the Englishman is the ideal player as he can handle all types of bowling with ease.

Buttler, who helms England's white-ball brigade, secured the illustrious Orange Cap in IPL 2022, amassing a staggering 863 runs. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) luminary has maintained his meteoric form in the current season as well, already recording three 50-plus scores in a mere four matches.

On Wednesday, Buttler's masterful innings of 52 runs on a challenging Chepauk pitch bolstered the Royals to a match-winning total of 175 against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Talking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan expressed his admiration for Buttler and said that he was unable to find adequate words to praise him. He commended the stumper for being a skilled cricket batter who utilizes the crease well and has excellent technique and footwork against both pace and spin. The Indian veteran stated that according to him, Buttler is the best batter in the world currently.

"I fell short of words to praise Jos Buttler. He is a proper batter of the cricket ball. He uses the crease to perfection, possesses good technique, and he has good footwork against pace and spin. For me, he's the No. 1 batter in world cricket at the moment,” said Harbhajan.

Meanwhile, the 176-run target proved to be a hair's breadth sufficient for the Royals to stave off the Super Kings and secure a pivotal three-wicket victory. With a daunting 21 runs needed from the final over, CSK skipper MS Dhoni unleashed two mighty sixes as Sandeep Sharma's attempted yorkers culminated in full tosses.

Nevertheless, the right-arm pacer switched to around the wicket, successfully thwarting any further boundaries and sealing the game in the Royals' favor. The win helped the Sanju Samson led side climb to the top of the points table with three wins out of four matches. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings are currently fifth on the table with two wins and as many losses.
