India take on Australia in the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, beginning on February 9 (Source: Twitter)
As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 is upon us, the excitement is hitting its peak as fans and pundits from both sections pull out a sword of words.
The series will start even-steven as the hosts are without a few key players. Although a few injury concerns are looming in the Australian camp also, their preparations are in full swing.
While a part of the cricketing world has predicted the series-win in favour of Pat Cummins and Co., former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh cast his doubts upon the statement, calling it a far-fetched idea.
As per the 49-year-old, the only point up for discussion is if India cleansweep the four-match series or win it 3-0.
Notably, Ian Healy, a former Australia wicket-keeper, had forecast the Kangaroos to claim back the Border-Gavaskar Trophy if India serve them with 'fair' wickets.
Here's what Dodda wrote on Twitter:
"I understand optimism, but to say Australia will win the series in India is a bit outlandish. The Oz have no chance against the quality of India’s spin trio. They’ll not win a test. India winning 3-0 or 4-0 is the only thing that needs to be decided."
The first Test match of the series starts on February 9 at Nagpur.
