How are they going to stop Bazball: Darren Gough mocks Australia before Ashes
Australians during the Test series against South Africa
Since the change in reigns from Joe Root and Chris Silverwood to Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, England have somewhat revolutionised Test Cricket.
Their approach to play the longest format has become ultra-aggressive -- both in batting and bowling, helping them win nine out of the ten Test matches played under the new regime.
England might not be playing the final of the World Test Championship, but all nations across the world are trying to find answers of how to match the Bazball approach.
Ahead of the Three Lions' next major Test assignment against Australia at home, the former England cricketer and Yorkshire's director of cricket Darren Gough talked about England's revolutionary approach and alerted the visitors of Bazball.
“I think Australia will be scared,” Gough told The Yorkshire Post. "I literally think they’ll be thinking, ‘What are we going to do? How are we going to stop it (“Bazball”)? They’ll be having meetings about that now. How are we going to stop it?"
He further warned Australia by mentioning that this English side could also score at 7 runs per over in Tests.
"This England team can play on flat pitches, knowing they’ll score at seven an over and that they’ll have two-and-a-half days to bowl a team out, so it doesn’t matter," he further said.
Playing with Bazball, the Stokes-McCullum led unit has beaten New Zealand, India, South Africa and Pakistan brutally. Pat Cummins' side, on the other hand, have been playing a fine brand of cricket and pummelling opposition convincingly.
At the moment, Australia are facing the Proteas at home and they will next be visiting India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for their next Test match commitment.
