The much-awaited Test series between India and Australia is set to commence on February 9. As the visitors gear up for the series, wicket-keeper Alex Carey has shed light on their preparations ahead of the opening game in Nagpur.

Interestingly, Australian batters have practised against an Indian net bowler, who emulates legendary Ravichandran Ashwin in not only action but also variations.

The keeper-batter spoke in length about his experience of facing the bowler, admitting to not picking the carrom ball properly.

He also revealed how they have been toiling in the nets to deal with Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel.

"It didn't click to me, it was more Ashwin, an off spinner. I didn't get the carrom ball, so, I will hopefully ask him to bowl a few to me. They are all really handy, good net bowlers, got left armers in there as well for Jadeja, Axar."

When quizzed about not playing a practice game before the series, the southpaw justified it, expressing his satisfaction at the practice pitches and net bowlers they have been supplied with to prepare for the Indian challenge.

"I haven't thought too much about the tour game. I think it's great to have the facilities we do have. The wicket is spinning here as well, so, i think it's a great way to lead up to the first game."

This is Carey's first-ever Test tour to India. However, considering his impressive record in the subcontinent, we expect the 31-year-old to pass this tough test with flying colours.
