Sam Curran becomes the most-expensive player in IPL history

In a remarkable turn of events, Sam Curran has become the costliest buy in the history of IPL. Curran attracted every franchise in the mini-auction. 

There was a long bidding war between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings for Curran, which the latter won for a whopping amount of 18.50 Crores. 

Curran was one of the few names expected to go for a sky-high price in the mini-auction. The English superstar had a stellar T20 World Cup Down Under recently, playing an instrumental role in England's triumphant campaign. 

Despite being a youngster, Curran has vast experience in the shortest format, having represented the Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings in the IPL in the past. 

In 32 IPL matches, Curran has scored 337 runs and claimed 32 wickets. Being someone who can bowl at any phase and contribute handy runs down the order, Curran has made Punjab's lineup a formidable one.
