Samit Patel speaks on his future as Hundred Final just under reach

Former England cricketer Samit Patel is currently plying his trade for the Trent Rockets franchise in The Hundred Men’s Competition 2022 final against Manchester Originals. 

The veteran has been a key figure in the English domestic circuit. However, with with his growing age, there is a limit on how long he can keep playing at the highest level. The all-rounder spoke during the mid-game to the broadcasters talking about his future.


The all-rounder gives an insight into his future plans

The all-rounder picked a whopping three wickets to restrict Originals to a score of 120. His wickets included the likes of Tristan Stubbs, Ashton Turner, and Paul Walter at an economy rate of 1.53.

Speaking about his exceptional bowling performance, the veteran added that he loves playing at Lord’s. The bowler also heaped praises on his teammate Matthew Carter. Carter gave away just 19 runs in 20 balls. Meanwhile, he also discussed his plans for international cricket.

Samit Patel said,

"Yeah, I am really lucky to be playing at Lord's. I like playing here. I guess wide yorkers and a change of pace might help here. You see, Carter there he got great skill. Haven't played so far and to come here to play in the final was a good one. Not sure how long I will play. But, I am lucky to have played in international cricket."

Now, Trent Rockets are scheduled to chase 121 runs in the second innings to lift the glorious trophy.
