Zimbabwe continued to toil hard, but hardly got any reward as rain continued to play spoilsport on Day 2.

How Day 2 panned out

On a track that offered nothing for the bowlers, West Indies took advantage of the situation, and took the Zimbabwe attack to all parts of the ground.

It was a classical Test approach from Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Kraigg Brathwaite, who weathered the early storm, and when the dust settled, they didn't look back.

Even though Brathwaite was beaten multiple times on the outside-edge, he continued to show grit and determination and played with a lot of cautious. On the other hand, Chanderpaul, who looked good in his debut Test series against Australia, provided yet another solid foundation and matched toe-to-toe with his skipper.

There were some clouds hovering around early in the day, but it stayed away from the game. Zimbabwe used five bowlers, but no one was effective, and that allowed the visitors to take the game away.

Rain continued to play cat and mouse game with the players and the spectators, but it never halted West Indies' momentum as both the opening batters - Brathwaite (116*) and Chanderpaul (101*) remain firm at the crease.

The scoring rate increased once the second new ball was taken, and the boundary gates opened. Eventually, we lost a number of overs on day 2, but at-least the West Indies side will be relatively pleased with how all their wickets are still intact.

Day 3 is known as the moving day, and if the rain god stays away, we might get to know the direction in which this game is heading towards.
