Kagiso Rabada is not playing in RCB vs GT match [Source: AP]
In a significant development, Gujarat Titans (GT) won the toss and opted to bowl first in their third group-stage match of the IPL 2025 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. At toss, GT skipper Shubman Gill stated that the visitors would bowl first, considering the placid nature of the surface.
Why Is Kagiso Rabada Not Playing RCB vs GT Match?
In a shocking move, GT have excluded Kagiso Rabada from their playing XI for the high-voltage clash against RCB. Rabada, who was expected to lead GT's pace attack, won't participate in this high-voltage affair. The Titans have brought young all-rounder Arshad Khan back into their playing XI.
It's unknown if it's a tactical change or a forced one to bench Rabada, who could've been their game-changer with the ball. However, several reports have claimed that Rabada will miss this match due to personal reasons.
In two IPL matches this season, Rabada has bagged two wickets at an average of 41.50 and a strike rate of 24. His economy of 10.38 suggests that he has struggled to control the flow of runs, but having said that, GT will certainly miss his experience of bowling across phases on this batting-friendly deck.
