Riding on the fireworks from Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got off to a flying start in their ongoing IPL 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium. 

After negotiating the new ball threat, the RCB openers took on SRH captain Pat Cummins, smacking him for 19 runs in his opening over. 

The incident occurred during the third over of RCB's innings when Cummins brought himself into the attack to provide his side with an opening breakthrough. However, his decision backfired on the hosts, with Kohli and Du Plessis going berserk against him. 

As soon as Cummins came to bowl, Kohli greeted him with a stunning boundary over the leg side. It was a full-length delivery from the Aussie spearhead, as Kohli danced down the track, whacking the ball through the cow corner for a four. 


He followed it up with another magnificent shot, hitting Cummins' over-pitched delivery over the covers for a boundary. 

After he rotated the strike by taking a single, Faf du Plessis played an audacious scoop shot, leaving Cummins shell-shocked. 

However, T Natarajan emerged as SRH's saviour, claiming the prized scalp of Du Plessis in the fourth over. As of writing, the visitors were 51 for one in five overs, with Kohli and Will Jacks unbeaten in the middle.
