And although, no rain is expected on match day or in the days leading up to the event, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted game. It did drizzle significantly on 16th and 17th of this month and the pitch was covered by the Mohali ground staff.

Apart from Rohit Sharma, India has also rested Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav for the first two matches, with all four set to return for the final ODI. Australia, on the other hand, will welcome back key players like Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Mitchell Starc. They have also included Marnus Labuschagne, who has made a strong case for inclusion in the World Cup squad.

This series will serve as an opportunity for both teams to finalise their squads for the World Cup since the deadline to make any changes without ICC approval is September 28, a day after the series concludes. The first ODI will take place at the PCA Stadium in Mohali, marking the sixth ODI meeting between the two teams.
