New Zealand will lock horns with Pakistan in the second T20I match of the Tri-Series tournament at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Saturday.
New Zealand is expected to play their T20 World Cup combination with one change as all-rounder Daryl Mitchell was ruled out of the series after sustaining a blow to his right hand while batting in the nets.
The hosts have been in sublime form in the shortest format, winning their last four series on the trot. Heading into the tri-series, they will look to extend their unbeaten run ahead of T20 World Cup 2022.
As for Pakistan, the 'Men in Green' registered a comprehensive 21 runs victory over Bangladesh in the series opener on Friday at Hagley Oval. Mohammad Rizwan was the top run-scorer with an unbeaten 78 off 50 balls.
Thanks to the batting masterclass by the wicket-keeper batter, Pakistan finished with a decent total on the board, which they defended well, courtesy of Mohammad Wasim's three-wicket haul.
The visitors in Green will look to keep their winning momentum intact. However, it won't be an easy task, especially against the star-studded Black Caps, who have dished out some outstanding team performances in the last few series.
