The Indian team is in the United Kingdom for their next assignment of the five-match Test series. Notably, the Asian giants will be led by a new skipper, Shubman Gill. The first Test of this tour will be played at the Headingley in Leeds.
As the team prepares for the first Test, it's time to give Indian cricket fans a bit of nostalgia. Let us go back five years, the last time India played a Test match at this very venue.
Five players are left from the XI that last represented India in the Leeds Test in 2021.

The Indian batter was seen opening the innings during that match. Unfortunately, the match did not go well for him. In the first innings, KL Rahul scored a four-ball duck.
During his second dig in the match, Rahul did spend a longer time in the middle. However, he did not trouble the scorers too much in this case. The Indian opener played 54 deliveries in the second innings, scoring just eight runs.
2. Rishabh Pant

The Indian wicket-keeper was seen playing the role in the last Test match that the team played at this venue. Notably, Rishabh Pant also did not have a great time with the bat in that game.
In the first innings of the match, the southpaw scored two runs off nine balls. In his second attempt, he managed to score only one run off seven deliveries. Both the batter and the Indian team management will hope that these two batters will have a better time in the upcoming game.
3. Ravindra Jadeja

The veteran Indian all-rounder was also a part of the XI in the Test match four years ago. As far as batting is concerned, Ravindra Jadeja failed to leave any impact on the game. In the first innings, the all-rounder could manage only four runs off 29 deliveries. During his second innings, the southpaw came up with a counter-attacking knock of 30 runs from 25 deliveries.
As far as his bowling effort is concerned, during the only innings he bowled, Jadeja conceded 88 runs in 32 overs while picking up the wickets of Haseeb Hameed and Moeen Ali.
4. Jasprit Bumrah

India's ace pacer and one of the most critical cogs of the team in the upcoming tour was a crucial part of that game, too. Jasprit Bumrah bowled 27.2 overs in the match, conceding 59 runs and picking up the wickets of Joe Root and Ollie Robinson.
5. Mohammed Siraj

The last man who was a part of the playing XI and is also a part of the current India squad is the pacer Mohammed Siraj. The right-arm pacer bowled 23 overs and conceded 86 runs in them. Siraj had the wickets of Dawid Malan and Sam Curran to his name.
Forgettable Match For India
Notably, it was a forgettable game for the Indian team. Batting first in the match, they were bundled out for just 78 runs. In reply to India's poor effort, England scored 432 runs and put India way behind in the game. During their second dig with the bat in the match, India scored 278 runs before their innings was packed up as they lost the game by an innings and 76 runs.
