Ricardo Powell walks off after 96
Ricardo Powell drove Manipal Tigers to a consolation win in the final league match of the Legends League Cricket 2022 season. In a masterclass run-chase, the former cricketer delighted everyone with a six-laden 96.

India Capitals charted 183-2 off the back of half-centuries by Hamilton Masakadza, Denesh Ramdin and Ross Taylor. Tigers’ Corey Anderson picked one of the two wickets that fell in the innings, with the other being a cunning runout affected by wicketkeeper Tatenda Taibu.
The run-chase featured Ricardo Powell ruffling up the table toppers. While he faced only 52 deliveries in the evening, the cricketer made them count, by hitting his stride with a dashing 96. The former West Indies batter struck eight boundaries and seven sixes in the process, and formed identical match-winning stands with Mohammad Kaif and Corey Anderson.
India Capitals did stage a comeback in the death overs, but the Tigers managed to sneak through for a win in the final ball of the match.
The Capitals’ defeat snapped their three-match winning run this tournament, however, they still made it to the playoffs and will now face Bhilwara Kings in the qualifier.
