The United Arab Emirates will lock horns with the Netherlands in the second Group A encounter of the ICC T20 World Cup in Geelong at 1.30 PM IST on Sunday.

The last few months have been disappointing for both teams in terms of their performance in T20Is. While UAE recently suffered two successive defeats from Bangladesh, the Netherlands were drubbed by New Zealand in their backyard. As they will play mighty Sri Lanka and a spirited Namibia going forward, this encounter holds paramount importance for both teams.

With two solid teams taking on each other, we expect a nail-biting encounter on Sunday. Although we give the Dutch an edge, UAE certainly has the calibre to force an upset.

Match Details

Venue: Simonds Stadium, Geelong
Live Streaming: Star Sports Network & Disney+ Hotstar

Pitch Report: The Simonds Stadium in Geelong has witnessed a single T20I, in which Sri Lanka chased 176 to hand Australia a two-wicket defeat. The surface will assist the fast bowlers early on, with batting becoming significantly easier later. So, the toss-winner will likely opt to field first.

Key Players

Max O'Dowd top-scored for the Netherlands in the World Cup qualifiers, amassing 178 runs at a healthy average of 35.60.

Muhammad Waseem will shoulder UAE's batting responsibilities. The stylish right-hander was the second-highest run-getter in the Asia Cup qualifiers.

Bas de Leede has exhibited his incredible all-round prowess for the Netherlands on multiple occasions. Besides scoring 170 runs, he scalped nine wickets in the World Cup qualifiers.

Junaid Siddique was UAE's most successful bowler in the Asia Cup qualifiers, scalping five wickets at a superb strike rate of 12.
