How Can SRH Qualify For IPL 2025 Playoffs After Crushing Defeat vs MI At Wankhede?

On Thursday, Mumbai Indians locked horns against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium. The hosts handed the Men in Orange an embarrassing defeat as the Hardik Pandya-led side registered a four-wicket win. 

With the victory, MI moved to sixth place in the table with six points in seven matches. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were the finalists in IPL 2024, are having a disastrous season as they suffered their fifth loss of the season. 

Notably, for SRH, they now have just four points in seven matches with just two wins. This article will shed light on how SRH can qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs. 

How Can SRH qualify for IPL 2025 Playoffs?

Each team play 14 matches and SRH have played half of their games. Now the Pat Cummins-led side have seven more matches in their hand. Usually, the magical number to qualify for playoffs in IPL is 16 points.

Thus, for SRH to qualify for the playoffs, they need to have 12 more points, which is to win six out of their seven games left in this season. Ideally, SRH would look to win all of their games and finish the season with 18 points. However, seven wins out of eight matches too would do the trick for the Men in Orange. 

Ideally with 18 points, they wouldn't rely on other teams, but with 16 points, SRH need to finish with good net run-rate.
