Scotland openers Saskia Horley and Sarah Bryce phased past the powerplay overs without a wicket, and accumulated 29 cautious runs in the process. Both Horley (13 off 23) and Bryce defied England’s new ball attack for a while before the former was toppled by Nat Sciver-Brunt in the eighth over of the match.
Sarah and captain Kathryn Bryce subsequently navigated Scotland to 49-1 by the halfway stage of the innings.

Middle-order batters Ailsa Lister and Lorna Jack-Brown were also dismissed in quick succession by Danielle Gibson and Lauren Bell as Scotland reached 77-4 around the 15-over mark.
Amidst tumbling wickets, Kathryn Bryce held her end of the crease and pumped out 33 swift runs from 28 balls to elevate Scotland’s scoring rate to a certain extent. While Charlie Dean knocked over Kathryn at the end of the 17th over, Scotland still managed to accrue 109-6 by the competition of their innings.

English openers Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge gunned down their 110-run target in just 10 overs with all their 10 wickets intact. Both cricketers belted blistering half-centuries in the process, and extracted 66 of those runs within the opening powerplay itself.
Bouchier belted 62* off just 34 balls, and smeared 12 boundaries in her belligerent knock, including one off Kathryn Bryce for the winning hit. Her partner Danni Wyatt-Hodge remained unbeaten at 51* from 26 balls with seven boundaries as England recorded their third successive Group B win in the tournament.
With the outcome, the English Women dethroned South Africa to take the top spot on the 2024 T20 World Cup Group B points table.
