In another exciting day of cricket, Team Abu Dhabi, Deccan Gladiators and New York Strikers triumphed on the day eight of the Abu Dhabi T10 league to earn two crucial points.

Match no. 20: The Chennai Braves vs Team Abu Dhabi

After choosing to bat first, Braves never got the things under their control as they were blown away by the brilliance of Naveen-ul-Haq who scalped three wickets in the very first over. After early shockers, the Chennai-based side went into recovery mode to bail them out of trouble.

Quite astonishing it would be know that only four players crossed the zero run mark from the eight who batted in total. 21 runs by Vriitya Aravind were the highest that he attained a rate of less than run a ball.

Ending their innings on 71, they never really got out of jail. Naveen left the field after grabbing spectacular figures of 3/7 in his two overs.

Not just Chennai, but Abu Dhabi too had a horrible start with 1/3 after just seven balls. However, their big hitter Chris Lynn took the matter in his hands and countered with 39 runs from 25 deliveries.

Supported well by all-rounder Fabian Allen who was brilliant with his 33 off 21 balls smashing few big hits, helped the side chase down the target inside nine overs. Both of them together stitched a 74-run partnership to end their woes.

Patrick Dooley grabbed figures of 2/4 in two overs, however, that wasn't enough to stop the hosts to end the game with seven wickets remaining.

Brief Scores:

The Chennai Braves: 71/6 (10 Overs)

Vriitya Aravind 21*(25), James Fuller 16(7);
Naveen ul Haq 3/7(2), Andrew Tye 2/14(2)

Team Abu Dhabi: 75/3 (8.4 Overs)

Match no. 21: Bangla Tigers vs Deccan Gladiators

What turned out to be a fairly one-sided encounter Nicholas Pooran's Deccan Gladiators took the game without any hassle.

Bangla Tigers choose to bat first, got a decent start courtesy Joe Clarke who amassed 23 (12) but soon found themselves in trouble as two quick wickets by David Wiese ensured they were kept in check.

Previous match's hero Iftikhar Ahmed arrived at the crease and thumped 21-ball 54 not out, being the lone warrior in the innings. However, except him none of the batters got anything significant and were a disappointment.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan played a small quickfire knock of 17 off 9 balls to take his side to 108 at the end of 10 overs. Mohammad Hasnain and David Wiese were pick of the bowlers with two wickets each.

Chasing 109 for victory, the opening duo of Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Nicholas Pooran blew away their rivals in a blink with both of them bashing their respective fifties. Pooran tore apart the opposition skipper Shakib with five sixes in the fifth over of the chase, taking momentum with them.

By the end, the game got over with 23 balls and ten wickets remaining, giving a massive boost their Net Run-Rate and qualification hopes.

Coming out to bat, Strikers' opener Andre Fletcher departed on the initial delivery, causing skipper Morgan to enter the arena. Along with Paul Stirling, there were considerable effort to keep themselves in the chase but the Irishman fell too for just 15 runs.
