It all started with carnage from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, which helped SRH to post 125 runs in Powerplay overs. Head kept on going, while Heinrich Klaasen failed to convert his start. Yet, Shahbaz Ahmed's maiden IPL fifty took SRH to a massive total of 266/7.

In reply, Shaw began magnificently, smashing four fours on the trot before losing his wicket. Jake Fraser-McGurk then hit the fastest fifty of the IPL 2024, and it all seemed like they were on the hunt. However, once he fell, the chase looked bleak with time before eventually they were folded for 199. Rishabh Pant, in particular, was struggling in the middle, although his 35-ball 44 knock won't suggest the fact.

What an amazing batting performance from the SRH as they break various records to finish at 266/7 in 20 overs. Things could have been worse for the home side Delhi had it not been for their spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel taking 5 wickets between them. But in the end, the carnage continued and the Delhi Capitals have a job to do to chase this down as Shahbaz Ahmed, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Abdul Samad provided them the finishing touches.

It is Delhi's first game at their own Arun Jaitley Stadium. Meanwhile, they have lost four and won three. Their last affair against GT saw their bowlers' stellar show was supported by skipper Rishabh Pant's brilliant wicketkeeping.
