Rahul Dravid remains the second highest international run-scorer among Indians

Virat Kohli played a brilliant knock of 63 runs off 48 balls in the last and final T20I match against Australia. After the match-winning knock there has seemingly been a confusion among the fans. The confusion is regarding who is currently the second highest international run scorer among Indians after Sachin Tendulkar? 

Well, Kohli now has  24,078 international runs under his belt. Some fans are of the opinion that this is the second highest international aggregate of runs for an Indian. Interestingly,  Rahul Dravid has scored 24,208 international runs in his career. So, what is the confusion here?

The confusion has been created is because Dravid has played 6 international innings for ICC World XI and Asia XI. In these 6 innings Dravid has scored 144 runs.  But these runs are not for India. So, if we subtract these runs from his career aggregate, his numbers stand at 24,064 runs. 

Hence, Rahul Dravid has scored 24,064 runs for India in international cricket. While Kohli's 24,078 international runs are all for India. Therefore, if international runs for India are considered Virat Kohli is ahead of Rahul Dravid. 

On the other hand, if only international runs are considered Rahul Dravid is still the second highest international run scorer among Indians.
