Punjab Kings formerly known as Kings XI Punjab has never been able to lift the IPL trophy in 15 long years so far but there has never been a dearth of talent in their squad. Plenty of Superstars of the game have played for the franchise and has done so successfully as well creating a special place in hearts of billions of fans around the world.

The list of quality players is a long one and there have been legends from different generations who have represented Punjab and even led them with swag and passion over the years. 

 Let us now see the top 10 players from Punjab Kings in IPL history who have enhanced the glory of the franchise by their presence and performances over the years

Yuvraj Singh

The original Punjabi boy of Indian cricket, Yuvraj Singh was the leader of Punjab franchise in the 2008 and 2009 season. He led from the front in the inaugural season and played some sparkling knocks to take his team to semi-final in the very first season. However, his association with the franchise has not been as a long as people would have expected at the start but he is still one of the biggest players to play for Punjab in IPL.

Virender Sehwag

Sehwag is one of the biggest names in world cricket and played for Punjab in their most successful season. Sehwag scored 455 runs in that season and took Punjab to the final with a brilliant century against CSK in playoffs. Sehwag with his swag and class is surely one of the most celebrated players of Punjab.

Glenn Maxwell

'The Big Show' as he is fondly called, set the stage on fire in 2014 season with his mesmerising strokeplay. He batted at number 3 that season and scored 552 runs at a strike rate of 187.76 entertaining one and all with his brilliant skills. Maxwell's name would always be written in golden letters whenever Punjab King's history pops up in years to come.

Adam Gilchrist

The legendary Australian wicketkeeper batter also led Punjab during the initial years of IPL. It was his leadership and the swashbuckling Strokeplay at the top of the order that created lot of buzz around Punjab in the 2011 season and he will surely be one of the top players to play for Punjab in IPL.

Kumar Sangakkara

He is another one of those legendary batters to play for Punjab in IPL. He was always one of the top-run scorers for Punjab in the initial three years and was an important asset with his experience and leadership qualities.

Chris Gayle

Gayle is an IPL legend and there is no doubting it. Yes, many fans will associate Gayle with RCB but Gayle has also featured for Punjab Kings from 2018 to 2021. Though he played for Punjab at the backend of his career, there were many memorable performances especially in the 2019 season when he scored 490 runs at a strike rate of over 150.

KL Rahul

KL has been absolutely fantastic for Punjab whenever he has batted for them. He was the leader of the pack in the 2020 and 2021 season and was the Orange cap holder in the 2020 season as well. In his tenure as a captain, KL Rahul often found himself playing a lone battle with the bat and will surely be remembered as one of the most consistent run-scorers for Punjab Kings.

Shaun Marsh

One of the earliest batting stars for Punjab, Marsh became an overnight sensation after his exploits with the bat for Punjab. In the inaugural season, Marsh scored 616 runs and was the first Orange Cap holder in the history of the IPL.

David Miller

'If it's in the Arc, it's out of the Park' - This phrase is often associated with Miller for his brilliant finishing skills. However, it was for Punjab that he first showed displayed his finishing antics in IPL. It was the 2013 season and Miller hit an unbeaten 38-ball century against RCB to announce himself on the big stage. He played for number of years for Punjab after that and was one of their top performers. Miller also captained his side in the 2016 season.

Arshdeep Singh

The latest sensation for Punjab Kings is none other than Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm seamer is known for his pin-point yorkers and has grown by leaps and bounds in recent times. He is a star performer for Punjab Kings and his performances will go a long way in determining the overall fortunes of Punjab Kings in coming future.
