New York Lions, led by Suresh Raina, will go up against the Robin Uthappa-led Chicago Cricket Club in match number 12 of the NCL T10 2024 season on October 11. The much-awaited contest will be hosted by the University of Texas Dallas (UTD) Cricket Stadium and the action will commence from 5:30 AM IST onwards.

New York Lions

New York Lions, under the leadership of Suresh Raina, won two out of its first four fixtures to be ranked fourth on the NCL T10 2024 points table. After routing LA Waves, the Lions lost to Dallas Lonestars and Atlanta Kings in successive games before finding rhythm again with a four-run win over Texas Gladiators.

Upul Tharanga will once again be expected to come up clutch with the bat for NY Lions, considering the Sri Lankan legend has emerged as the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 151 runs from four matches so far. With the ball, Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has picked up five wickets to lead his team’s spin department.

Chicago

Despite losing out to Atlanta Kings in their opening match of the season, a Robin Uthappa-led Chicago team defeated Texas Gladiators and Dallas Lonestars with huge margins next-up to find themselves at the top of the NCL 2024 points table. Another win over New York Lions will further solidify them at the top of the six-team standings.

Captain Robin Uthappa has ably led his team from the front. Apart from marshalling his troops, the former Indian cricketer has also tallied 96 in three innings at a strike rate of 208.70. However, much of Chicago’s success can be attributed to their collective bowling efforts. Michael Alexander Leask and Simon Harmer are currently leading the wicket-taking charts of the tournament with seven and six scalps respectively.
