These would be the players you would not like to miss out on the clashes from the 4th of March to the 12th of March. The five teams will be playing four matches and that will give the big names enough chances to impact the fantasy contests of the tournament.

Safest Picks from each team

Ashleigh Gardner (Gujarat Giants): The Australian all-rounder has been in brilliant form in the recently concluded Women's T20 World Cup. Ashleigh Gardner has done it all with both the bat and the ball in the tournament for the Australian team. The Giants will hope that Gardner translates the form into this tournament and carries the team through the first round. She will be one player you should automatically choose in the fantasy contests of the match involving the Gujarat Giants.

Sophie Ecclestone (UP Warriorz): The English left-arm spinner will be the biggest asset of the UP Warriorz team. In Indian conditions, Ecclestone will be very useful. She is the world's number-one ranked bowler in T20I cricket and her ability to pick up wickets while being economical will concern the batters. She will definitely be one of the highest points fetchers at the end of week 1 if the tournament.

Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore): The Indian left-handed opening batter will be leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament. The team will depend a lot on Smriti Mandhana to give them some solid starts. Mandhana was in good batting form during the Women's T20I World Cup and she will hope to continue the same in this tournament.

Hayley Matthews (Mumbai Indians): The West Indian skipper was in great all-round form during the Women's World Cup. Coming into the WPL, Hayley Matthews will not have the pressure of leading the team and that will give her the freedom to express herself to the fullest. She might be opening the innings for the Mumbai Indians and her spin bowling will help her pick up valuable fantasy points during the first week of the tournament.

Jemimah Rodrigues (Delhi Capitals): The Indian top-order batter has often not strung together a series of good performances. This tournament will be a chance of Jemimah Rodrigues to proves herself as a consistent performer. With the added responsibility at the top of the order, she will have a great chance of picking up some  valuable fantasy points .
