An online food delivery incident involving a woman and a delivery agent sharing the name with Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, has caught the eye of social media users, drawing in a plethora of comments and reactions that have veered off into unexpected directions. This isn't a script for a new ad campaign but a real-life story of unfulfilled cravings that left netizens both amused and bewildered.

Rohit Sharma at Swiggy denied vada pav delivery to a customer

The ordeal began when Neha, a patron of the food delivery app Swiggy, found herself in a pickle, or rather, without her favourite Vada Pav and roll. Her wait for a quick snack was bowled out by a phone call from the delivery agent.

But this was no ordinary agent; he bore the name of Rohit Sharma. The real twist? Instead of delivering sixes on the field, this Rohit Sharma was delivering — or, in this case, not delivering — food.

This led Neha to share her frustration on the social media platform 'X', along with a screenshot of her order marked as "delivered" in the Swiggy app. In her post, Neha expressed her dismay, quoting the delivery man's words, "I don’t have time, I can’t bring the order. Do whatever you want," and sought assistance from Swiggy's customer care.

However, the internet, in its infinite wisdom and wit, bypassed the usual sympathy route and zeroed in on the ironies — a delivery guy sharing a name with the cricketing sensation and the audacious pricing of a humble Vada Pav. Comments ranged from playful banter to cheeky observations.

Yet, the plot thickened with the revelation of the Vada Pav's price tag. At Rs. 100, this snack was no longer just street food but the subject of debate and humour. This prompted a buffet of jokes and economic analyses from the netizen food critics. As the story unfolded, what began as a simple complaint morphed into a hilarious social media episode.
