The much-anticipated film "Tiger 3," starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, has experienced a significant impact on its box office collections due to the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.

Tiger 3 faces stiff competition from World Cup 2023

Despite a strong start, the movie's revenue has been notably affected by major cricket matches, including the semi-final between India and New Zealand, and will be further affected by the upcoming final. The two teams collided in Mumbai where India emerged victorious by 70 runs on Wednesday.

It is worth mentioning that as of its fourth day, "Tiger 3" had amassed approximately Rs 162 crore, with a daily collection of about Rs 19.50 to 20.50 crore. These figures, however, fell short of expectations, primarily due to the clash with crucial cricket matches. Bhai Dooj, a typically profitable day for movie releases, saw a lower-than-expected turnout, with collections that could have otherwise reached between Rs 26 to 28 crore.

The film's first-week collection is estimated to be around Rs 220 crore, but these numbers are expected to be further impacted by the World Cup 2023 final scheduled in Ahmedabad, where India will face Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This anticipated match is likely to divert a significant portion of the potential audience, further affecting the movie's revenue.

The opening week of "Tiger 3" has been marred by various external factors, notably the ICC World Cup 2023, which has drawn away a large segment of the audience. The film's long-term performance now hinges on its ability to maintain a steady trend in the coming weeks to compensate for the initial loss in revenue.
