Once in a four-year spectacle, ICC World Cup 2023 will begin on 5th October with the high-class battle between last time's finalists England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But to set the stage on fire and announce the grand arrival of the mega tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and ICC have planned a star-gazing opening ceremony that will take place on 4th October.

The ceremony will feature all ten captains, including skipper Rohit Sharma, who will participate in the World Cup alongside some of the biggest names in Bollywood.

Superstar Ranveer Singh, legendary singer Asha Bhosle, extremely melodious Shreya Ghoshal, most loved Arijit Singh, outstanding actress Tamannaah Bhatia and star of the 2011 World Cup song Shankar Mahadevan. Also expected to join them is Pritam, composer and singer of this World Cup's theme song 'Dil Jashn Bole'.



The ceremony will begin at 7 PM IST at Narendra Modi Stadium on the 4th, a day before the opening game, due to the fact that it will have a laser show and fireworks that can't happen during the daytime.

Officially to be called the 'Captains Day', the laser show will be an extravaganza that will capture the imagination of our country while adding the fireworks to the gallery.

Also, the top officials from other boards are invited to add to the charm of the biggest spectacle of the year.

As for entry, those with tickets for the opening game will be allowed to set foot into the stadium premises and enjoy the glorious night.
