Will Ashwin Play In World Cup 2023 Final vs AUS? Rohit Sharma Drops 'Massive' Hint

The much-anticipated World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia is all set to unfold soon and there is massive hype regarding the composition of both the teams and how the surface will behave at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The expectations are sky high in India, as the home team has dominated the World Cup with swag and flair and are unbeaten coming into the final. Rohit Sharma has displayed great leadership in this World Cup and has been too keen on tinkering with the winning combination. 

India have been playing three seamers and two spinners in the form of Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav throughout the tournament, but started the World Cup with three spinners against Aussies at Chennai. Ravichandran Ashwin played that game and did decently as well, so there are speculations that he might get the nod yet again if the pitch does offer some help.

Rohit Sharma on his part also mentioned in the press conference ahead of the final, that they have kept all the options open. Rohit added that they will take the final call depending on the pitch and strengths and weaknesses of Australia.

"We haven't decided on the XI. anyone from the 15 can play. We will assess the wicket and decide on. We have to look at the wicket and then decide and of course the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition."
