India are set to announce their squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy this afternoon. After suffering a disastrous defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India are all set to feature in the marquee event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

As reported earlier, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI selection committee head Ajit Agarkar were supposed to announce the Champions Trophy squad in a press conference this afternoon. The much-awaited presser was scheduled to take place at 12.30 PM IST; however, the event has yet to begin, with fans across the globe keenly waiting for its commencement.

Why Have India Delayed Champions Trophy Squad Announcement?

India's squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy was expected to be unveiled during a press conference at 12.30 PM IST on Saturday. However, as of now, the squad hasn't been announced, as the Indian think tank is involved in a meeting regarding the selection process.

As reported by a certain journalist present at the event, there will be further delay in the announcement, with the captain, chief selector and other key members engaged in a meeting behind closed doors.

Probable Selection Dilemma For Indian Think Tank

There could be several selection conundrums for the Indian think tank before revealing the Champions Trophy squad. With the Men in Blue still needing concrete information on Jasprit Bumrah's recovery status from a back injury, fitness concerns also looms over Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav. There might also be discussions on players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Reddy and Sanju Samson, who could be wildcard entries in the Champions Trophy 2025 squad.
