After securing historic wins on Australian and South African soil, Pakistan are preparing to take on New Zealand and South Africa in an ODI Tri-series at home. When Will Pakistan Announce Its Squad For Champions Trophy And ODI Tri-Series?
Although seven participating teams have revealed their provisional squads for the Champions Trophy, Pakistan have yet to unveil their combination for the mega event. However, according to Cricket Pakistan, the PCB will likely announce its team for the Champions Trophy as well as the Tri-series within the next one or two days.
The report claims that the PCB selection committee has already assembled the squads for the two much-awaited events. So, if the report is to be believed, the teams are expected to be out within the next one or two days before the Pakistan players travel to Lahore for their first game against New Zealand.
Saim Ayub's Injury: The Biggest Concern For Pakistan
According to several reports, the PCB is keenly awaiting Saim Ayub's recovery status as the in-form opener continues rehabilitating from an ankle injury he sustained during the South Africa tour. If Saim misses out on selection, Pakistan might have to bring back the veteran duo of Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman for the opener's slot. There are also reports suggesting Babar Azam's promotion to the opening slot, while Usman Khan and Khushdil Shah are under consideration for the batting reserves.
