Ireland head coach Heinrich Malan bewailed Australia's bad weather as the side's last game before the 2022 T20 World Cup ended as a washout.

When the Malan-coached team touched down in Australia, they had five preparation games ahead of themselves. However, they could play only two matches with the weather playing party pooper in the rest of the clashes.

Ideally we would have played a few more games: Malan

Although Malan wanted the team to get more game time, he still is beaming with confidence as Ireland now gears up for the battle against Zimbabwe in the upcoming ICC tournament.

"Ideally we would have played a few more games but we can’t control the weather,

"The boys have been working hard getting our plans in place with the support staff and I’m sure the work we are doing in this space will put us in good stead as we head to Hobart (for their opening World Cup game against Zimbabwe on Monday)."

Ireland were scheduled to face Sri Lanka today, however, the fixture got abandoned due to inclement weather conditions in Melbourne.
