St Kitts and Nevis Patriots batter Ambati Rayudu etched his name in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) history by becoming the first player to hit a six in the league. This impressive achievement occurred during a league match between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Warner Park in St Kitts.

In the seventh over of the second innings of the match, Keemo Paul delivered a ball that angled down the leg side. Rayudu adeptly adjusted his stance, swiveled slightly, and dispatched the ball over the fine leg boundary to record his inaugural six in the CPL.

Batting at number four, Rayudu, playing his first ever season in the CPL, showcased his talent by smashing 32 runs off 24 balls. While his efforts didn't lead his team to victory, they certainly delighted the home crowd with an entertaining display.

In pursuit of a target of 198, Rayudu's team faced a daunting task as they began the high-scoring chase. Losing Andre Fletcher and Joshua Da Silva early in the Powerplay added to their challenges, resulting in a mere 37 runs on the board for the loss of two wickets. A substantial partnership of 55 runs between Rayudu and Lewis brought stability to the innings. Although the skipper fell just two runs short of his half-century, the partnership provided a promising foundation.

Unfortunately, the team's batting faltered afterwards, and despite Rayudu's efforts, the Patriots experienced a collapse. Rayudu's dismissal triggered a chain reaction, leading to the team losing their last seven wickets for only 49 runs, resulting in a final score of 132 runs.

Gudakesh Motie emerged as a standout performer with the ball for Guyana, clinching a four-wicket haul, his personal best in the CPL. Despite an initial challenge, captain Imran Tahir rebounded, claiming two crucial wickets. The remaining seamers also contributed with a wicket each.
