Asia Cup 2022: Wasim Akram asks Pakistan to be wary of Sri Lanka

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has backed the Babar Azam-led side to win the Asia Cup 2022 title. However, he also advised the team to be wary of an in-form Sri Lankan side in the final.

While speaking on the BBN Sports, the legendary speedster said:

“The performance of the Pakistan team has been fabulous in this Asia Cup. However, in the game against Sri Lanka, the intent was missing in their batting. The bowling was decent though.

Hopefully, they will learn from their mistakes. But still, I think, Pakistan is the favourite in the finals. But the exciting and young Sri Lanka team cannot be taken easy.”

The cricketer-turned-commentator also backed Babar Azam to return to form, and described him as “one of the best players in the world”.
