Warm-up match against India is a great opportunity for me: Shan Masood

India’s white-ball team will play a T20 warm-up match against Derbyshire on Friday (1st July) as a part of their preparations for the T20I series against England following the Edgbaston test.

The Derbyshire skipper Shan Masood considers this match as a fantastic learning opportunity for himself. Speaking to PakTv ahead of this crucial clash, Masood opined that this encounter will let him play against some world-class cricketers, which in turn would help him evolve as a player.

“As a cricketer, I look at this match as an opportunity because I will get to play against some top cricketers, which will help me grow my cricket. I know that playing against India is a big moment for Pakistani players. But I am looking at this as just a cricket match,” Masood said.

To note, India have named separate sets of players for the Edgbaston test and the first T20I against England. This signifies India’s remarkable depth in the international circuit, which was reverberated by Shan Masood.

The Pakistani test opener heaped praises on India’s incredible bench strength and acknowledged that the visitors have a number of immensely skilful players, which makes them one of the toughest opponents on the cricket field.

“India has an incredible team, and they are currently touring with seperate red-ball and white-ball teams, so they have a lot of talent and many world-class players," the 32-year-old concluded.
