Proteas announce ODI, T20 squads to take on Pakistan; players to leave early for IPL 2021
South Africa have announced the squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Pakistan scheduled for next month. Temba Bavuma will lead both sides against all-strength Pakistan led by Babar Azam. The hosts have handed maiden call ups to all-rounder Wihan Lubbe, fast bowler Lizaad Williams, Kyle Verreynne along with recalling of Aiden Markram and Wiaan Mulder after a year for the ODI series. Lubbe has been selected to play in the T20I series, while Williams will have his chances to make a debut in both T20 and ODI series. The ODI series between the sides will commence on April 02 at the Super Sports Park in Centurion, followed by an equally long T20 series comprising of three T20s. The series will overlap the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League and the players such as Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, and David Miller, who form the essential parts of the IPL franchises will be leaving early from the series, as per a report an ESPNcricinfo report.
