Toby Albert signs a two-year contract extension with Hampshire

Toby Albert has signed a two-year contract extension with Hampshire County Cricket Club. The new deal will keep the youngster at Ageas Bowl until the end of the 2024 season. 

Since joining the club in 2018, Albert has contributed at the top and the middle-order for Hampshire Academy and Second XI team.  

The 2022 edition of Second XI County Championship saw the skillful batter slamming 536 runs in 10 innings for Hampshire at an average of 48.44, laced with two centuries. 

The consistent contributions helped him to get selected into the First XI team in the ongoing 2022 season as well. 


Albert hopes to bring more silverware for the Hampshire

"I’m delighted to stay at this great Club for another two years," said Albert. 

"I’ve made some great memories and great friends in the short time since moving from the Academy to the First XI.

"Hopefully I can continue to contribute as Hampshire aim for more trophies in the future."


Recent Performances of Toby Albert for Hampshire

The 20-year-old got an opportunity to represent Hampshire in the white-ball formats in the 2022 domestic season. 


Albert contributed 83 runs at an average of 27.66 in the T20 Blast at a strike rate of 123.88. In the ongoing Royal London One Day Cup, he has been prolific with 218 runs in five appearances at an average of 72.66, with a top score of 84*. 

His performances have certainly helped the team to sit at the pole position with wins in all five league matches in the One Day Cup.
