On Monday, July 4, the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans (ITT) will lock horns with the Dindigul Dragons (DD) in the ninth match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 (TNPL). The game will be played at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul.

IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans have had a dream start to their tournament campaign as they managed to tame the Ruby Trichy Warriors in their opening fixture on the back of an ecstatic all-round performance.

After putting to bat first, Trichy Warriors posted 157 for six on the board. IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, in reply, chased down the target in 18.5 overs and with four wickets in hand. Subramanian Anand and Tushar Raheja top-scored for the team, having smashed 35 and 42* runs, respectively. 

The Dindigul Dragons, on the contrary, have suffered two defeats in three matches they have played so far. Their most recent disappointment came against the Nellai Royal Kings, who saw them losing the game by eight wickets. 

It was a rain-affected contest as the match was reduced to 12 overs per side. After being sent to bat first, Dindigul Dragons struck 130 for 5, with openers Vishal Vaidhya and Hari Nishanth top-scoring for the team, whacking 45 and 37 runs, respectively. In reply, the opposition batters launched an assault on DD bowlers and chased down the total in 11 overs.

The Hari Nishanth-led side is currently placed in the fifth spot in the TNPL 2022 points tally, and they will have their task cut out as they take on a determined IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in their upcoming TNPL fixture on Monday.
