  • Tim Paine Sexting Scandal Woman Accused Of Sending Explicit Messages To Cricketers Brother In Law

Tim Paine sexting scandal | Woman accused of sending explicit messages to cricketer's brother-in-law

Cricket Tasmania recently has alleged that former staffer Renee Ferguson, who had previously reported that former Australian Test captain Tim Paine and four other staff members had sexually harassed her between 2015-17, sent explicit messages to Paine's brother in law.

Ferguson had demanded nearly $1 million from Cricket Tasmania for the alleged harassment she faced by Paine and four other employees. Still, the club has alleged that the latter initiated sexual conversations, as per Federal Court documents.

According to the defence, Ms Ferguson allegedly sent photos appropriate photographs of hers and her partner to the former Australian Test captain's brother-in-law.

The Federal Court documents, Ferguson also sent explicit messages to Mr Tubb, who served as Cricket Tasmania's High-Performance coach. The documents also state that she sent a topless picture of herself besides saying she was 'sore' after a sexual encounter with another guy.

In a series of 1500 messages exchanged between her and Mr Tubb, Ferguson invited the latter to her place with a female friend.

Mr Tubb admitted that it all started with office banter, which soon escalated into sexual message exchanges during non-office hours. However, he also claimed that the sexual messages were consensual.

"Mr Tubb admitted that he and [Ms Ferguson] shared messages but said the messages were mutually exchanged and consensual in nature,' the court documents claimed according to the Daily Mail.

"That [Ms Ferguson] continued her contact with Mr Tubb after she resigned appeared to [Cricket Tasmania] to be inconsistent with her claims to have been sexually harassed by him," the document stated further.

Ferguson had also claimed that she shared her ordeal of sexual allegations with other staff members, but, according to her, they were ignored.

However, Cricket Tasmania stated that her email search history shows no such complaint was made. The club also exonerated Mr Tubb of sexual harassment allegations levied by Ms Ferguson.

Back in November, 2021, Paine stepped down from the leadership position of the Australian Test team in an emotional press conference. Paine had been exonerated from the charges pressed by Ferguson back in 2017, but a news leak ahead of the Ashes proved to be his undoing.

Watch | Mark Wood’s hilarious reaction after being left out of the team huddle

West Indies vs England is shaping up to be an interesting contest at the end of Day 2 in Sir Vivian Richards Stadium at Antigua. After a rain-marred day, the game seems to be evenly poised, with Windies recovering from a middle order collapse of sorts to post 202 runs for the loss of four wickets, still 109 runs behind England’s first innings score. Earlier in the day, Windies were able to cap off England for 311 runs in the morning session of Day 2, limiting the damage Jonny Bairstow had caused. The right-hander hit 140 runs off 259 balls before falling as the final wicket of the day for the visiting side. He was given a standing ovation for his brilliant show to rescue England from a top order disaster that had them reeling at 48/4. Coming into bowl, England found no luck with the new ball as Windies openers scored boundaries freely. However, with the ball getting older, England threatened with Mark Wood, Craig Overton and Ben Stokes - who were relentless with their probing lines and lengths. However, intermittent rainfall throughout the day marred the flow of the game, but it did not go without the antics of Mark Wood, off the ball. The England pacer was on the opposite side of the ground when captain Joe Root called for a team huddle, and could not arrive at the right time to discuss plans with the team. The pacer then, produced his hilarious self and imitated a team huddle before giving a thumbs up to the team. Watch the full incident below Wood was one of England’s best bowlers on the day, having troubled the hosts with his searing pace and reverse swing. He got the wicket of a set Windies captain who was looking threatening to go big and score a three-figure mark in the first Test match of the series. It needs to be noted that this is a new look pace attack from England as they try and move onto the next era of Test cricketers. The selection committee has chosen to snub legends Stuart Broad and James Anderson for the West Indies tour after the team’s horror show in Ashes Down Under.
