BCCI asks franchises to ensure full vaccination of all UAE-bound squad members

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has asked the franchises to make sure that all the members who would be travelling to the UAE for the remaining fixtures of the Indian Premier League (IPL) are fully vaccinated. "We have been told that all those travelling should have completed taking both the doses of vaccination so that there is no problem once teams reach UAE. The quarantine process is most likely going to be seven days before teams can start training," the source said while talking to ANI. The IPL 2021 was suspended on May 4 after there was a rise in Covid-19 cases within the franchise sides and will now be resumed September 19 when Mumbai Indians will lock horns against Chennai Super Kings in Dubai while the final will be played on October 15 at the same venue. Delhi Capitals were placed at the top of the table with 12 points under their belt before the cash-rich league was put to halt while CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore were placed at number two and three spot respectively. This would be the second consecutive time when the IPL will be held in UAE. The 2020 edition of the tournament was also hosted by UAE.
