  • The Alarm Bells Have Probably Gone Off Somewhat Around World Cricket As To How This Team Is Going To Play Brendon Mccullum

The alarm bells have probably gone off somewhat around world cricket as to how this team is going to play: Brendon McCullum

After sealing an impeccable 3-0, Test-series win against the Kiwis, England's Test team seems to be one of the most lethal teams to check out. Probably it is because of the new and revamped captaincy and coaching spots.

Under the guidance of Brendon McCullum and with Ben Stokes leading the red-ball side, every player of the English side has shown their pure class and calibre in this successful series. Especially from the batting department perspective, England scored runs at a rapid rate of 4.54 an over. As the number suggests, we see an attacking approach initiated by the new duo of Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, which is working for them.

"The world Test champions were a formidable opponent to overcome, and the alarm bells have probably gone off somewhat around world cricket as to how this team is going to play," said McCullum following England's seven-wicket win at Headingley.

The new red-ball team coach also mentions that it was the perfect time to hop in the all-rounder as the team's captain, and he has already exceeded the coach's expectations.

"I think the timing of him getting the captaincy is perfect. I know it's early days, but he's exceeded my expectations already, to be honest," said McCullum

Adding to that statement, he said, "His message has been very consistent and very articulate as well. He doesn't speak all the time, but when he does speak, it's banging on. The skipper has taken them on a journey, I've tried to fill in the gaps where needed, and they've got instant gratification for that change.

"Enjoy the game with your mates and understand you have a very finite time as an international cricketer, so you should try and enjoy rather than being paralysed by the fear of failure or the noise."

For now, the English are getting geared up for the upcoming and intensifying rescheduled fifth Test against India from July 1 at Edgbaston.
