That tour became horrible for me: Ramiz Raja Jr accuses Waqar Younis of racism

Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja Jr. has accused Waqar Younis of racism and claimed that he discriminated against players from Karachi and Punjab region during his time as Pakistan Men's cricket team coach in 2011.

Ramiz, who played two T20 Internationals for Pakistan in 2011, opened up about the rude behaviour he faced from the then Pakistan coach, Waqar Younis, during his only tour because he was from Karachi and Waqar had a bias against players from Karachi.

"During my only international tour with the national team, I faced rude behaviour from Waqar Younis," Ramiz said to a local news channel.

"He taunted me a lot just because I belong to Karachi. That tour became horrible for me, and I just wanted to go back home."

In addition, Ramiz also claimed that Waqar asked him to learn Punjabi to stay in the team and stopped him from training with fast bowler Sohail Khan from Karachi.

"He told me to learn Punjabi to survive in the team. They used to speak Punjabi in all team meetings," he maintained.

"Once I asked him to go for training with Sohail Bhai. He refused and said 'this is not the Karachi team," he concluded.

Last week Ramiz Raja was asked about the Lahore-Karachi rivalry in Pakistan cricket, and he responded that such things are impossible in this social media era.

This is not the first time Waqar Younis has found himself in a controversy. But unfortunately, controversies have marred his whole career.

Many ex-cricketers have talked about his bias and rude behaviour. Just last week, Ahmad Shehzad blamed the former coach for ruining his career and demanded that Waqar's report against him be made public.
