  • Temba Bavuma To Lead South Africas World T20 Squad Faf Du Plessis Morris Tahir Overlooked

Temba Bavuma to lead South Africa's World T20 squad; Faf du Plessis, Morris, Tahir overlooked

South Africa have named their 18-man T20I squad for the upcoming ICC World T20 2020-21 under the leadership of Temba Bvauma.

While most of the names are on expected lines following the T20I series in the last few months, the exclusion of Faf du Plessis from the side should mark as an end of the road for the former skipper.

The Proteas have also excluded two big names in the world of T20 cricket such as Imran Tahir and Chris Morris. Both of them last played for them in the ICC ODI World Cup 2019 and while Tahir announced his retirement from the 50-over format, he was available for selection in the shortest format. Morris earlier this year had complained lack of communication from Cricket South Africa and hence his exclusion should be seen as the end of his international career.

The trio of Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi form the core of the pace bowling attack while the number one bowler in the format Tabraiz Shamsi, Keshav Maharaj will constitute the spin department.

The onus of batting will rest on the shoulders of skipper Bavuma along with experienced pros in Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram.

The trio of George Linde, Andile Phehlukwayo, Lizaad Williams has been selected among reserves for the squad.

Notbaly, the Proteas can make changes to their squad until October 10.

CPL 2021 | BR vs TKR: Boosted by losing streak breaking win, Barbados face the Trinbago challenge

Having on a do or die game against Guyana Amazon Warriors to end their three-match losing streak, Barbados Royals would be looking to pull off a win against the Trinbago Knight Riders to remain in the hunt for the Semi-Finals. The two teams collide in the first game of the doubleheaders day on September 09th at Warner Park in Basseterre. The game against the Warriors was one such match in which all departments fired for the Royals and they would require similar coherence between all departments against the best team of the league, the Knight Riders. From the openers to middle order and the bowling, everything clicked for Jason Holder’s side. Even he himself was in a great hitting form. On the other hand, Trinbago Knight Riders would be heading into this match as an opportunity to seal their birth in the Semi-Finals and they are just one win away from equalling table-toppers St Kitts and Nevis Patriots’ 10 points as well. Thus with dual goals in mind, Keiron Pollard’s men would take the field and would hope to achieve those goals as well. Barbados Royals vs Trinbago Knight Riders Match Number: 23 Date and Time: September 09, 2021, 07:30 pm IST, 10:00 am Local, 02:00 pm GMT Venue: Warner Park, Basseterre Broadcast: Star Sports Live Stream: Fancode Pitch Report The pitch at Basseterre has been getting slow with each passing day, although some wickets are also showing encouraging stuff. However, to expect what a wicket would do is not an easy job, but one thing is sure that if it is going to be a new wicket, then run-scoring might just be easy. Weather Forecast The weather at Warner Park will remain hot and humid with humidity of 72% at the time of the start of the match. The temperatures would remain in the lower thirties with the moderate evening breeze blowing. A captain winning the toss would look to bowl first and try and chase it into the night. Tymal Mills back as England name preliminary squad for World T20

The England and Wales Cricket Board announced a 15 member squad for the Men’s team which would take part in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman. The 15 member squad would be led by World Cup-winning skipper Eoin Morgan. The biggest entry into the squad is of Sussex fast bowler Tymal Mills who returns to the international set-up for the first time since February 2017. Mills bowled incredibly in the T20 Blast as well as in the inaugural edition of the Hundred playing for Southern Brave. The biggest ouster though is of Durham's Ben Stokes, who due to his personal issues has taken an indefinite break from cricket and was not available for selection Reacting to the announcement, England head coach Chris Silverwood said, "We are excited about the prospect of challenging to win the ICC T20 World Cup.” "I believe we have selected a squad that covers all bases and has the depth to be successful in what is expected to be a very competitive tournament featuring the best players in the world,” he added. Tymal Mills’s inclusion is a big moment and Silverwood acknowledged it too saying that Mills has shown that he is a pressure situation player and thus would be very useful for the team’s campaign. "His exceptional pace is a standout, and the way he has spearheaded Sussex and Southern Brave's respective attacks in the short-form game has shown that he relishes the pressures of the big stage.,” said Silverwood. England have until 10 October to finalise their squad ahead of the tournament. England squad Eoin Morgan (Middlesex, captain), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jonathan Bairstow (Yorkshire), Sam Billings (Kent), Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Sam Curran (Surrey), Chris Jordan (Sussex), Liam Livingstone (Lancashire), Dawid Malan (Yorkshire), Tymal Mills (Sussex), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), David Willey (Yorkshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham) Travelling reserves Tom Curran (Surrey), Liam Dawson (Hampshire), James Vince (Hampshire)

Youth and experience amalgamted as Bangladesh announce squad for T20 World Cup 2021

Mahmudullah, the most successful Bangladesh T20I skipper will get ready for the toughest trip of his life as he gathers his troops for their ultimate test yet, the T20 World Cup 2021. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named a 15 member squad for the team’s advents in Oman and UAE. While Mahmudullah has been named the skipper of the side, no vice-captain has been made for the trip but it is understood that under necessary conditions senior fellows Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim could do the job. The Tigers would start their campaign on October 18 against Scotland in Group B of Round One, where they have also been drawn against Oman and Papua New Guinea. The team has as young players as 20 years of age, two of whom had been crowned ICC U-19 Champions just a year ago in 2020. While the batting is strengthened by the availability of firebrand cricketers like Liton das, Naim Sheikh and Soumya Sarkar at the top, all-rounders like skipper Mahmudulah himself alongside Shakib, Mahedi Hasan and youngsters Afif Hossain, Shamim Potwary provide for great cover. Two wicket keepers are experienced Mushfiqur and blazing hitter Nurul Hasan. The bowling department looks stunning as well with the presence of four fast bowlers in Mustafizr Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Mohammad Saifuddin and Taskin Ahmed while Nasum Ahmed will be the sole spinners who can’t be termed an all-rounder in the squad. Reserves include experienced Rubel Hossain and young leggie Aminul Islam to cover the bowlers.
