Team Indian reach Pune for ODI series against England

Team India reached Pune a day after outplaying England and winning the T20I series 3-2 in Ahmedabad. They will lock horns with England once again in a three-match ODI series. The series will begin on March 23 and all the three ODIs will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association ground in Pune.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the Indian players at the Pune airport, and in the flight in which young guns such as Shreyas Iyer, Krunal Pandya and KL Rahul have been seen spending time with comfort.

The ODI series will be played behind closed doors as the number of Covid-19 cases has started to rise again in the country. The last time these two sides had met at the same venue, it was Virat Kohli’s first series as the full-time captain of the Indian team and he led from the front to win India a high-scoring game.

Earlier today, England named a 14-men squad for the series. England Test captain Joe Root and pacer Jofra Archer have been left out of the squad. Archer will miss the series due to a recurrent elbow injury while Root is believed to be given rest following his presence with the England team in Sri Lanka and India.
