Derbyshire v/s Yorkshire

Result: Derbyshire won by six wickets (DLS method)

Leus du Plooy held his nerve to allow Derbyshire Falcons to get over the line against the Yorkshire Vikings. In this rain-affected encounter, the Vikings played their full quota of twenty overs and managed to put 175 on board.

Harry Brook depicted stellar stroke play on his way to a brilliant 77-run knock. He smashed four fours and an equal number of sixes. Finn Allen (37 off 17 balls) and Shadab Khan (26 off 16 balls) were the other top contributors.

Mark Watt looked the most impressive with the ball for the Falcons, snaring three wickets. George Scrimshaw claimed three wickets in the 20th over to restrict Yorkshire to 175.

Early into Derbyshire’s chasing endeavours, the rain gods opened up. The match was reduced to 10 overs, with Derbyshire needing 105 for a win.

The Falcons lost Luis Reece and Wayne Madsen early and struggled at 16/2. But skipper Shan Masood (34 off 24 balls) was joined by Leus du Plooy in the middle, and the duo calmed down the nerves.

Falcons scaled-down the revised target with two balls to spare, with du Plooy holding fort on 48* (20 balls), with five fours and three sixes.

Brief Scores: Derbyshire 105/4 in 9.4 overs (Leus du Plooy 48*, Shan Masood 34, Dominic Leech 3/13) defeated Yorkshire 175/10 in 20 overs (Harry Brook 77, George Scrimshaw 3/20, Mark Watt 3/29) by six wickets (DLS method)

Worcestershire v/s Northamptonshire

Result: Match abandoned due to rain

Not a single delivery was bowled in the match between Worcestershire Rapids and Northamptonshire Steelbacks as rain played spoilsport. The weather had cleared up after a heavy downpour, allowing the toss to take place.

Northamptonshire sent the opposition in to bat for the 11 overs a side match. However, the rain returned to dash any hopes of a truncated match as the teams shared points.
