Durham vs Warwickshire
Ben Raine's all-around efforts went in vain as Durham succumbed to their fifth loss of the season. Warwickshire moved up to second place in the North Group after this six-wicket victory against the Liam Trevaskis-led side.
Opting to bat first, Durham's top-order misfired as the team was left reeling at 36/4 in the 8th over. However, its middle and lower-middle order offered some resistance, pushing the score beyond 140. Ben Raine top-scored with an unbeaten 51 off 33 balls, with three sixes. Craig Miles returned with three wickets for Warwickshire and gave up only 29 runs.
Set a target of 142, Warwickshire chased it down with two overs to spare. However, Alex Davies' 49 and 73-run partnership with opener Jacob Bethell calmed down nerves, if any, after Paul Stirling's first-ball dismissal.
Adam Hose (28*) and Chris Benjamin (17*) then killed the chase with their cameos.
Brief Scores:
Warwickshire 142/4 in 18 overs
Alex Davies 49
Ben Raine 22/2
Durham 141/7 in 20 overs
Ben Raine 51*
Craig Miles 29/3
Result: Warwickshire won by six wickets
Yorkshire vs Lancashire
The clash of the 'roses' lived up to its high billing as Lancashire Lightning edged out arch-rivals Yorkshire Vikings in a high-scoring thriller.
After being put in to bat, Lancashire did not allow the bowlers to settle and find their rhythm. Keaton Jennings' 42 (28 balls) and Steven Croft's 41 (24 balls) laid the foundation for a towering total.
Then, Tim David displayed another stellar show of his power-hitting abilities. He scored 66 off only 32 balls, with four fours and half-a-dozen sixes. Captain Dale Vilas, too, contributed with a quickfire unbeaten 40 to help Lancashire reach 213/5 in 20 overs.
Yorkshire lost their opener, Dawid Malan, on a golden duck. However, Tom Kohler-Cadmore (77 off 43 balls) and David Willey (52 off 28 balls) increased the Vikings' hopes of scaling the target on their home ground.
However, their dismissal triggered a collapse, and the lower middle order failed as they fell short by four runs.
Brief Scores:
Lancashire 213/5 in 20 overs
Tim David 66, Keaton Jennings 42, Steven Croft 41
Yorkshire 209/8 in 20 overs
Tom-Kohler Cadmore 77, David Willey 52
Tom Hartley 21/2
Result: Lancashire won by four runs
