Complete team performance has allowed Somerset to notch up their third consecutive win in the Vitality T20 Blast (South Group). They defeated Hampshire Hawks by four wickets to strengthen their position at the top of the points table.


Opting to field, Somerset’s bowlers wreaked havoc and dismantled a batting lineup having Ben McDermott and James Vince on it. Josh Davey picked up three wickets, while two each went to Lewis Gregory, Ben Green and Marchant de Lange.


James Fuller’s resistance allowed Hampshire to cross the 100-run mark and set a target of 124 for Somerset.


Somerset chased down the target in 15.5 overs to give their NRR a boost. Valuable contributions from the top order and Tom Lammonboy (33) in the middle helped them emerge triumphant even after losing six wickets in the process.

Nottinghamshire vs Northamptonshire 


The North Group fixture between Nottinghamshire Outlaws and Northamptonshire Steelbacks got abandoned due to rain. After being put in to bat, the Notts had registered 140/6 on the board after 18 overs. 


A substantial contribution came from Samit Patel, who scored 63 (44 balls), with eight fours and two sixes. Matthew Kelly was the star performer with the ball for the Steelbacks, with four wickets to his name.
